What is one question you hate to be asked? Explain.
That question from todays WordPress (Jetpack) prompt is a tough one to answer, however I’m going to answer it best I can for myself to you my readers, fellow bloggers, and followers.
Some of us are in a stage of our lives where we’re in a good spot, or we’re in a bad spot, and some in between. So if that’s you, or us, keep reading.
There can be a lot of pressure on you to have some grand accomplishment to share. That question goes from what is to what can be, is about to be. Most of the time you hear a question in that preface you don’t feel like you have anything significant to share if it’s not mind blowing or had the ability to get the views and likes you want or need to feel accomplished.
We all start to measure ourselves and outcomes the moment someone asks a question. Right? Maybe that’s just me, nonetheless the question to me is both inspiring and demoralizing. why? I’m glad you asked.
It’s a motivational question because someone wants to hear your answer or they looking for an answer for themselves, and how accomplish they are in comparison to you maybe others. Did you catch that? Sometimes people will ask to compare or share their success with you, that let’s be honest might sound better to them, but not really better than your accomplishments. Go with the second part.
I believe success isn’t always measured by grand accomplishments or milestones. Sometimes, it’s about the small victories and progress you make along the way. If someone were to ask me this question, I would try to shift the focus of that question away from specific accomplishments and instead highlight some of the things I’ve learned, the obstacles I’ve overcome, and the ways I’ve grown as a person.
Instead of worrying about what you have or haven’t accomplished when you’re asked that question, ask yourself what you’re doing to become a better version of yourself. This could involve learning new skills, building better relationships, or contributing to a cause that you’re passionate about. By focusing on these things, you’ll naturally achieve more and feel more fulfilled in the process.
As you can see my blogs called “Coach Kenny!” I honestly say that because I’ve been coaching youth sports for over a decade. From recreational to competitive travel ball, and sports point and full contact fighting. I’m not the Freddie roach or a Coach Bo, or Coach Dan Gable, but I am able to say I kept it because a few players said you’re a forever coach. I ate that up emotionally and mentally.
I’m coaching myself while coaching others. I am talking to you, but talking to me, talking to us. Life’s about the journey, which is the process, and the outcomes the destination.
