You’re going on a cross-country trip. Airplane, train, bus, car, or bike?
If I were planning a cross-country trip, I would definitely consider taking the train. It’s a mode of transportation that I’ve always wanted to try, and I’ve heard so many great things about it. I live in Northern California and I see trains all day running from city to city here.
One of the things that really appeals to me about train travel is the scenery. Unlike flying, where you’re stuck in a metal tube looking at clouds, or driving, where you have to keep your eyes on the road, train travel allows you to sit back and take in the breathtaking views. I would love to see the countryside, mountains, and rivers from the comfort of a train seat.
Another thing that appeals to me is the comfort. I don’t love long car rides, and buses can be cramped and uncomfortable, but trains offer spacious seating and a relaxing atmosphere. I would be able to stretch out and enjoy the ride without feeling cramped or restless. Let me tell you, as a long time travel coach to my girls Fastpitch travel teams, no more car rides!
The convenience is a big factor too. With multiple daily departures, I could find a train that fits my schedule and budget. I wouldn’t have to worry about driving or parking, and I could relax and read a book or do some work during the journey. I do love the features for food and your own area spacious cabins and food, bar and lounges.
Of course, there are some downsides to train travel, like the fact that it can be slower than flying, and not all destinations are easily accessible by train. But overall, I think taking the train would be a unique, affordable, and comfortable way to see the country. I would definitely pack my bags, grab my ticket, and get ready for an adventure!
